Joining Information

If you are considering joining Mount Maunganui Swimming Club, it is important that your child's ability is assessed properly. Whether they be 'learners' or have previously swum for another club, we need to ensure that they attend the training sessions appropriate to their ability.

The Club trains out of Baywave TECT Aquatic and Leisure Centre, Corner Girven and Gloucester Roads, Mount Maunganui.

The best way to do this is to take your child along to one of the sessions. The instructor at the pool will be able to assess your child's ability, provide additional information and answer any queries you might have.

As we have a close working relationship with LeisureCo at Baywave and their Swimways Swim School which operates there, to train with the Club, children must be able to swim 100m Freestyle competently (the level at which Swimways Programme progresses to). We will still accept new members who wish to train with Swimways but wish to compete at Swim Meets as it is a requirement to be affiliated to a Club for competition purposes.

Our Winter Season commences beginning of April 2010 for all squads.  The cost for winter training for all squads is $55.00 a month or $220 for the winter season plus Affiliation Fee of $75.00 for the year if you swim competitively.

Coaches will assess each swimmer and place in appropriate squad.  Please note there is a $2.20 entry fee into Baywave.
